Best Overall Entry &
Monrovia Days Spirit Award - This trophy will be awarded to the school entry which best displays any of the following themes: Western, Route 66 or the Celebration of our
Country's 250th Birthday!
Award winners will be recognized at a ceremony on Saturday, May 16th at the Festival in Library Park at 4:30 p.m.

Event Street Closures
The parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. and travels north on Myrtle Avenue from Walnut Avenue to Palm Avenue.
Please be mindful of event road closures. The following streets will be closed from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
The streets outlined below will be closed using barricades and will be monitored by Police Department personnel to ensure participant safety.

Chestnut Avenue – from Ivy Avenue to Primrose Avenue

Mid-block Closures
The streets outlined below will not be accessible to through traffic. However, parking will be made available and signage will be placed along Primrose Avenue and Ivy Avenue at each street intersection that reads “Road Closed Ahead.”

***Where appropriate, the mid-block parking lots will remain open for merchants and patrons.***
Foothill Boulevard, Huntington Drive, Ivy Avenue and Primrose Avenue will remain open for through traffic. Staff will be notifying Old Town merchants of the anticipated closures.

Community Festival Street Closure
In order to set-up the carnival rides and other equipment, Staff is requesting street closures in Old Town beginning on Thursday, May 14 from 7:00 a.m. through Monday, May 18 at 6:00 a.m. on the following locations:

Palm Avenue - from Myrtle Avenue to Primrose Avenue
Beginning on Tuesday, May 12 from 7:00 a.m. through Monday, May 18 at 6:00 a.m. on the following locations:

Lime Avenue - from Myrtle Avenue to Primrose Avenue – midblock parking lot will remain open
Beginning on Thursday, May 14 from 5:00 p.m. to Monday, May 18 at 6:00 a.m.

Myrtle Avenue – from Lime Avenue to Palm Avenue
Staff will be working closely with the businesses on Lime, Myrtle and Palm Ave. to minimize any impact as a result of the event. Designated parking will also be reserved for Lime Businesses and their customers. Parking will be monitored by City Staff throughout the event times.
